For the 115th anniversary of International Women’s Day, ZEISS Southeast Asia (SEA) came together to celebrate women’s achievements and reaffirm our commitment to advancing gender parity through meaningful conversations and greater awareness.

In Singapore, the celebration started with a speech by Ven Raman, Managing Director, ZEISS Southeast Asia, followed by a dialogue led by Rameash R, Head of HR, ZEISS Southeast Asia. As leaders in ZEISS, shaping an inclusive workplace for the next generation remains a priority to allow teams and individuals to feel safe and supported to thrive in what they do. The dialogue brought up stories of the incredible women in the organization who drive business and operations forward with their unique strength and sensibilities.

At the last SEA Kick-off Meeting, the company acknowledged long-serving staff who have been with the company for anywhere between 3 to 30 years of which 42% of the recipients were women – positively reflecting the inclusive and diverse culture at ZEISS. ZEISS doesn’t only advocate but practices diverse and inclusive hiring, resulting in 43% of our SEA offices being made up of women and 41% of the managerial positions are women.

Seeing colleagues from Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand and Philippines get together reminds us that International Women’s Day belongs not just to women, but everyone who cares about gender equality.

In Thailand, colleagues got together for a sharing and discussion centered on IWD’s theme this year, “Give to Gain”. Through open dialogue, the understanding of the theme deepened and concrete actions were identified to carry its message forward beyond International Women’s Day.

ZEISS Malaysia employees came together for a perfume-making workshop. Fragrance reflects personal preference and is often closely tied to identity and self-expression. The process encouraged self-exploration and gave employees the opportunity to craft a scent that represented how they choose to show up in the world—mirroring International Women’s Day’s emphasis on owning one’s voice and identity.

In Vietnam, food brought our teams together in the Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh offices to celebrate International Women’s Day. Flowers were also gifted as a gesture of appreciation to recognise the incredible women who help keep the business and operations running every day.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme, “Give To Gain,” emphasizes the power of reciprocity and support. In our Philippines office, the team embraced this theme by highlighting the impact of solidarity and the importance of giving and receiving—at work, at home, and within the community.

Together, we can build a more equitable future for the next generation of women. Happy International Women’s Day!
