ZEISS Kickstarts Collaboration with Fei Yue Family Service Centre by Supporting Threads of Courage (ToC)

Singapore

29 September 2017

During ZEISS Singapore's annual year-end celebrations held on 29 September 2017, the CSR Committee introduced and welcomed the presence of Fei Yue Family Service Centre – a non-profit voluntary welfare organization that offers diverse services and programmes catering to the needs of different client populations in Singapore.

With this fundraising opportunity, Fei Yue personnel prepared a kiosk showcasing goods such as cushions, pouches, and the like with prices ranging from $6 up to $20. These crafts were carefully handsewn by their beneficiaries from their latest community project called “Threads of Courage” (ToC) that is targeted at individuals who are unable to secure a more permanent employment because of health or family circumstances. This initiative aims to empower individuals to be self-sufficient for themselves and their families. The support from ZEISS employees led to accumulating over $500 for this cause.

This is just the beginning of future projects with Fei Yue. Other projects in the pipeline will cover pillars like health and education where ZEISS business portfolios are able to largely contribute to their beneficiaries.
