ZEISS Participates in Runninghour 2017

Singapore

13 May 2017

17 ZEISS employees participated in this year’s Runninghour held at Bedok Reservoir Park, Singapore. Runninghour, which is organized annually, is a national event that aims to use mainstream sports as a platform to promote integration and to nurture an inclusive Singapore for people with special needs.

The event gathered over 2,000 participants in total, including 470 runners with special needs. A few ZEISS employees tried the signature "blindfold" run where one person is blindfolded while their partner guides them as they run forward - thus simulating what it is like running with a visual impairment.

As a company operating under the umbrella of the Carl Zeiss Foundation, ZEISS believes that giving back to society is also a contributing factor to its long-term success. The organization is driving consistent effort towards responsibility hence, ZEISS is pleased by this another opportunity to partake in, as one of the Corporate Social Responsibility activities like the Futsal Tournament that happened on 11 March this year.
