During 5 online sessions, our software experts will provide a short and comprehensive training on the key topics related to ZEN blue. We will focus on practical and hands-on training that you can apply in your everyday work. The individual sessions should give you more confidence with ZEN blue and help you acquire the data you need faster and easier.

The series is recommended especially for applications in Life Sciences and partly in Education & Routine. Experienced ZEN users as well as beginners will benefit from the provided knowledge.

Gert Sonntag

Gert has been a sales and application specialist at ZEISS since 2001. As an expert in 3D imaging, Gert supports Key account customers Germany and South Eastern Europe. In recent years, he established numerous workshops in our demo centers and also in the customer environment.

Basic Training Part II


Dr. Frank Vogler

Frank Vogler joined ZEISS in 2018 as an Application Specialist for automated and confocal imaging at the ZEISS Customer Center imaging facility in Oberkochen, Germany. In his PhD and PostDoc at the University of Regensburg he studied cell polarity establishment and polarized tip growth using molecular biology, biochemistry and quantitative live cell imaging techniques.

Dr. Marion Lang

Dr. Marion Lang obtained her PhD in physics from the University of Heidelberg in 2007 for her work on high-resolution microscopy which she conducted at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ). After university, she started as application specialist at Olympus for high-content screening and obtained further in-depth knowledge in image processing and analysis. Before joining ZEISS in 2017, she lived in China for three years, where she worked as a Senior Researcher at the Laser Institute of the Beijing University of Technology with focus on applications of lasers in Biophotonics. Three years ago, Marion Lang joined ZEISS as product manager, with main responsibility for image processing, image analysis and open application development (OAD).

Dr. Sebastian Rhode

Sebastian Rhode studied Chemistry in Munich (Germany) and did his PhD in Linz at the Institute for Biophysics (Austria).During that time he built setups for single-molecule microscopy to study living cells. He worked for various microscopy companies to develop hardware and software solutions and joined ZEISS in 2012. Currently he is responsible for the integration of Machine Learning solutions into the ZEISS microscopy platform.
