To address outstanding questions at the frontiers of modern biology and biomedical research, new microscopes and techniques have been developed in recent years.

ZEISS, a leading microscopy manufacturer and a close partner to the Vietnamese Science Society, in coordination with Faculty of Biology - HUS, invites you to workshops, demos and talks on our latest solutions and knowledge on imaging of biological complexities. As a participant, you will:

  • Learn different microscopy techniques in life science research
  • Be introduced to different imaging systems and their benefits to you
  • Discover ZEISS LSM 800 and Airyscan, ApoTome.2, ZEN Imaging Software
  • Participate in interactive hands-on learning workshops
  • Leverage on the knowledge of ZEISS Application Specialists from Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam

To learn more, we encourage that you register early and attend the seminar and workshops. Seats are limited.

Note: The workshop will be in English. Written materials will be supplied with Vietnamese translations. Please contact us if you need any assistance.

Optical Sectioning Using Structured Illumination

Create optical sections of your fluorescent samples – free of scattered light. With structured illumination, you know that only the focal plane appears in your image: ApoTome.2 recognizes the magnification and moves the appropriate grid into the beampath. The system then calculates your optical section from three images with different grid positions without time lag. It’s a totally reliable way to prevent scattered out-of-focus light, even in your thicker specimens. Operate your system just as easy as always. When imaging three-dimensional samples, out-of-focus light sometimes blurs your structure of interest. For these images, you need deconvolution – a combined optical and mathematical method – to increase contrast and improve the signal-to-noise ratio and resolution. The new GPU-accelerated, parallel CUDA® processing available in ZEN is now up to 30 times faster than the traditional technology, making deconvolution now practical to apply even for large data sets.
