| Carl Zeiss wins a Silver at the Global CSR Award 2009 |

Competing with Fortune 500 companies for the prestigious awards in 4 categories, Carl Zeiss' Managing Director, Mr. Ven Raman proudly received the Global CSR Award (Silver) for Best Workplace Practices at the Awards ceremony which took place at Raffles Hotel in Singapore. Stiff competition was evident from global corporate companies like MERCK, FEDEX, PROCTER & GAMBLE, PETRONAS.
Carl Zeiss India and SEA submitted entries on our CSR efforts with Wildlife Conservation, Community Programs in India and Singapore and initiatives with IAPB & Vision 2020.
The Global CSR Summit 2009 showcased best practices from all across AsiaPacific and tackled some of the most pressing issues within the Asian CSR Framework. The Summit touched on topics such as ethical values, improving the standards of companies, mastering the essentials of CSR, The Importance of Socially Reponsible Investment, Measuring Tools of CSR amongst other topics at the comprehensive 3 day CSR event. The event is attended by 30 Top notched global executives and Leaders in CSR and about 150 Delegates.
Mr. Ven Raman, also a panel speaker at this event spoke about our efforts with IAPB (International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness) and Vision 2020 in eliminating needless blindness in the world. | |
