Nokia fires up more 3G phones

Nokia has launched its latest N series premium 3G phones, one of which could replace an MP3 player. The N91 has 4GB of memory space - equivalent to about 3,000 songs. The other two phones are the N90 (below) and N70.

The N91 has dedicated music-playing keys, which controls play, pause and load functions.

Download music from the Internet on the go with high-speed 3G, or rip them from your CD. Share the playlist with friends via connections like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The N91 supports most digital audio formats including MP3, M4A, AAC and WMA.

There's also the option of connecting it with speakers, or headsets, or simply plug in the stereo headset. To make a call, slide the front cover down to get keypads.

It should be available by this year end.

Nokia's N90 features Carl Zeiss optics with two-megapixels lens. It comes with auto-focus, a macro mode for close up shots and 20x digital zoom and flash, with 100MB memory to store all the shots. The video camera takes about 15 frames per second, and up to an hour-long footage. Stores clips as MPEG-4 files.

The phone has image and video editors, e-mail functions, an Internet browser and an MP3 player. It should be available in this second quarter.

At just 126g, the N70, said Nokia, is the world's smallest 3G device. It has two camera with 20x digital zoom and flash; and the other, a VGA camera on the front for video-conferencing.

The phone can also run a slideshow with your photos, with accompanying music. It also has an integrated radio, Internet browsers and supports e-mail with attachments. Should be available in this third quarter. Pricing details for these phones are unavailable.
