The donation ceremony was inaugurated at the Park by Dr Michael Kaschke, Member of Carl Zeiss AG Board on the 28 November 2005 with the official ceremony witnessed by some 2,000 visitors at the "All-Star Birdshow" this morning, including Dr Larry Hansen, CEO Carl Zeiss Asia Pacific, Mr Ven Raman, Managing Director of Carl Zeiss SEAsia and the SEA Management team.
Globally, Carl Zeiss is an active supporter of natural conservation efforts in India, UK, and USA. One of the 6 Carl Zeiss VISION goals is "Environmental preservation" and Carl Zeiss SEAsia is doing its part towards the conservation of avian wildlife here in Singapore.
“There is so much work to be done specially in Asia to raise conservation awareness. We should begin to enhance appreciation for everything natural, colourful and living. It is a great privilege to support the Jurong BirdPark Singapore, being home to 9,000 birds and the largest aviary in Asia Pacific, says Mr. Ven Raman, MD, Carl Zeiss Southeast Asia.
Jurong BirdPark’s Executive Director, Dr. Wong Hon Mun welcomes the donation as this is also the first time that Carl Zeiss is making its presence in conservation efforts in Singapore. “We value this partnership and look forward to more activities which will instill a love for conservation of birds and all living things especially from a world leader in optics.” | The Equipment:
