Carl Zeiss: Three New Surgical Microscopes for Ophthalmic Surgery
Carl Zeiss has completely redesigned its product line for ophthalmic surgery. Three new microscopes, OPMIŽ VISU 140, OPMIŽ VISU 160 and OPMIŽ VISU 210, are now available. They possess application-oriented, innovative performance features such as Superlux™ Eye xenon illumination, DeepView depth of field management system and integrated slit illumination.
OPMIŽ VISU 140
OPMIŽ VISU 140 makes a concerted effort to deliver the basic functions necessary for efficient cataract surgery. The main lens and zoom optics are apochromatically corrected, the co-axial illumination provides an excellent red reflex and the integrated UV filter delivers optimum protection to the patient. Its easy to use controls make the OPMIŽ VISU 140 the system of choice for out-patient hospitals, for small clinics or for laser centers that would like to expand their range of services to include cataract treatment. Last but not least, the economical entry price perfectly fits into any investment budget.
OPMIŽ VISU 160
The new OPMIŽ VISU 160 is the multi-talented member of the ophthalmic surgery team. The universal system is ideally suited for procedures on both the anterior and posterior segments of the eye. The DeepView depth of field management system enables adjustments to the microscope image – optionally with optimized depth of field or maximum light transmission and resolution. The integrated slit illumination can be ideally used, for example, as retro-illumination during lens extraction. Brilliant images become visible through the microscope thanks to the apochromatic zoom optics. Maximum contrast and excellent detail recognition are additional catchwords that describe the high standard of the OPMIŽ VISU 160.
OPMIŽ VISU 210
The OPMIŽ VISU 210 surgical microscope was designed for the highest level of ophthalmic surgery. The optical and technical configuration supports the surgeon during all procedures on the eye – from cataracts to surgery on the posterior segment. With the new Superlux™ Eye xenon illumination, the OPMIŽ VISU 210 provides a white light that meets even the highest demands. The result is a bright, high-contrast image with natural color. A unique assistant's microscope and almost weightless positioning due to magnetic locking brakes complete the system. DeepView to optimize depth of field and slit illumination are also standard with this system.
